Communicating a story all the children know prompts engagement and sharing their ideas. Reinventing NEW STORIES, opens up creativity and expands learning through multi-sensory experience.
A fun introductory class incorporating drama games, poetry, mime, improvisation and play-scripts. This class helps to build confidence while making new friends. Our Youth Theatres usually take place in Wem and Newport. Work is regularly showcased through performance. These classes will resume following government advise.
Speech & Drama/Acting class LAMDA and Trinity grades and performances. ONLINE for the AUTUMN TERM
Character development, physical theatre, masks, role-play and scripts.
Children have the option of taking LAMDA/Trinity Verse and Prose and Acting exams (solo, duo or group). The work is often showcased through performance with strict social distancing 2 – metre ruling.
Acting class LAMDA/Trinity *Acting, *Verse and Prose, *Shakespeare, *Musical Theatre, *Devising grades and performances. Incorporating audition technique, interview methodology and skills for life or life in the pursuit of careers in the performing arts or other careers. These grades at Level 3 are accredited by Ofqual and hold UCAS points. Performance experience with strict social distancing 2- metre ruling.
William Drew-Batty MA, AETC, QTS
William Drew-Batty is an experienced and qualified singing tutor. A former chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral, he read music at The University of East Anglia and John Ruskin, Cambridge. William worked in the recording industry as a session keyboard player and has also been involved in musical theatre and opera as a professional singer. He worked for fifteen years as a qualified class teacher in both the state and independent sectors before starting his private piano and singing business in 2015. He is based at his studio in Bungay, Suffolk, and teaches beginners to advanced from age 7. William coaches students for practical music exams, simply for pleasure or for short consultation blocks of lessons. He is very open to the teaching of all styles of music and believes that the understanding of excellent basic technique is the key to progress.
